Public Transportation within the City of Barcelona includes the Barcelona Metro, tram, the Ferrocarrils (FGC) rail and buses, all of which offer extensive service to all parts of the city and region. 

You will need a valid ticket at all times when using the public transport services. Vending machines to purchase tickets can be found at every metro and rail station, and are available in several languages.

Metro network

The Barcelona metro consists of eight lines, 140 stations and over 130 rush hour trains. It operates over long hours every day throughout the city and to several municipalities in the metropolitan area.

TMB Bus network

With a fleet of over a thousand vehicles, all of which are adapted, and more than 100 lines, the bus network covers over 900 km between Barcelona and the ten cities in the metropolitan area.

Funicular de Montjuïc

From the metro, at Paral·lel station (L2 and L3), you can switch to the funicular, which takes you to Montjuïc, where you can enjoy the park and the Anella Olímpica (Olympic Ring).
