Dr E Jane Carter presented The Union Medal to Prof Jacques Grosset of France at the General Assembly on Saturday, 1 November. Prof Grosset was honored for six decades of research on tuberculosis and mycobacterial infections.
Dr Mark Dybul of the Global Fund described past examples of community engagement and suggested directions for the future at Friday's plenary session.
Parliamentarians and other elected representatives seek to use their leadership and influence to demand more effective action on TB.
Prof Anthony D Harries of The Union and Dr Anil Kapur of the World Diabetes Foundation spoke at a press launch for a report outlining the looming threat of a TB-diabetes epidemic on Wednesday, 29 October.
